Watermelon Mint Smoothie Recipe

“There’s no better way to celebrate summer’s arrival than sipping this pink delight,” says Well+Good’s smoothie mixologist Jennifer Kass. (Photo: Well+Good)
Here's a good-for-you, thirst-quenching smoothie—a healthy person’s Slurpee!
Juicy watermelon is the ultimate summer beauty food, since it carries antioxidants likelycopene, which helps skin cope with too much sun exposure.
Watermelon also hydrates with electrolytes, thereby keeping us dewy and glowing.
Fresh mint has cooling properties while aiding digestion. Lime has more vitamin C than an orange. And a head of romaine surprisingly offers 7.7 grams of protein, making it, and chia seeds (with protein, fiber, and omegas), a great addition to a summer fruit smoothie.
Raspberries add natural sweetness, have anti-inflammatory benefits, and give the smoothie its frosty texture. And (thanks to the chia) you'll be amazed at how filling it is!!
Watermelon Mint Smoothie
Blend and enjoy!
2 cups watermelon
1 cup raspberries
10  fresh mint leaves
juice of 1/2 of a lime
2-3 leaves of organic romaine lettuce, or fresh spinach
2 tablespoons chia seeds (do not overlook this detail, it's key!!)
1/2 cup filtered ice cubes and 1/4 cup filtered water
Yummy!!!
~Thanks Jennifer Kass
