This New Year’s Day, Start with Commitment & Passion!

New Year's Day
New Year’s Day doesn’t have to look like this

New Year’s Day is generally a bust in terms of well-being. You’re probably imagining rolling out of bed and nursing your headache on the couch while watching the last James Bond. But “Commitment Day” has other plans for you.
The Commitment Day movement is hosting 30 simultaneous 5Ks in cities across the country with the hope of inspiring Americans to take control of their health at the start of the new year. And lots of Chicago fitness and yoga studios are joining in, offering workshops and classes where you can cement your resolutions while sweating out champagne.
Commitment Day is all about inspiring a fitness revolution to urge all Americans to commit to a healthy and active way of life.
The key is that individuals won’t just resolve to be healthier in 2013, they’ll commit.
In Chicgo, the Commitment Day 5K will start and end in Grant Park, going north to Fullerton along the lakefront, and south to the Shedd Aquarium. All the runs will occur simultaneously across the country, with the West Coast starting at 8 a.m., meaning Chicagoans don’t have to start running until 10a.m. (time-zone privilege!)
Around the city, other options for not waiting until Wednesday to get fit abound. Yogis , watch for special Commitment Day offerings!
A whole lot of yoga is one way to start off 2013.
And if you're ready for a healthy 2013 but have never run a race of any sort, Commitment Day starts with training to run a 5K! Everyone is eligible for a FREE Training Plan from Life Time Run, available in 3 levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. If you have additional running or training needs, our  Life Time Run Coaches  are available to support you!  You won't regret getting the year off to a remarkable and memorable start!
Happy Holidays and here's to a most productive & healthful  2013!
